SW Ohio ASSP October Chapter Meeting – Permit-Required Confined Space Program Development – Session 2: Three (3) Entry Methods into a PRCS

SW Ohio ASSP Members,

On October 9, 2018 Bryan Haywood, Founder & CEO of SAFTENG will be leading the second session of a 4-part series on Permit-Required Confined Spaces (PRCS).  These working sessions are an opportunity for you to come and work on your PRCS and share your knowledge with other members. This 2nd session will cover the three (3) acceptable methods for entry into a PRCS:

1) 1910.146(c)(5) or 1926.1203(e) – “Alternative Entry” when the ONLY hazard is atmospheric

2) 1910.146(c)(7) or 1926.1203(g) – “Reclassification” of a PRCS to a Non-PRCS status

3) 1910.146(d)-(k) or 1926.1204 – 1926.1211 – “Permitted Entry”

This session will have a special emphasis on 1910.146(c)(5) / 1926.1203(e) and 1910.146(c)(7) / 1926.1203(g) as the means to enter.  We will cover permitted entries as well, but “permitted entries” will be covered at length in Session 3 (November).  This session will provide a great opportunity for you to create, review and even update your PRCS program.
