WHAT WILL I BE DOING? In your role as an Environmental Health & Safety Manager at Kellogg, you will be part of our success by:

  • Serving as the Technical resource for all relevant, plant, environmental permits
  • Providing compliance specifications/recommendations to Engineering & Maintenance Resources
  • Ensuring accurate and timely EHS recordkeeping, document management and effective case management
  • Preparing, maintaining, and submitting all records and reports required by the Company and regulatory agencies including the OSHA 300 log and injury records, Tier 2 & form R reporting, RMP, Annual Storm water Reporting, Wastewater Reports, etc.
  • Leading and/or assisting emergency response activities following spills and releases
  • Leading the ongoing development and review of continuous improvement programs related to air, water, wastewater and solid/hazardous waste.
  • Leading the development, review, and implementation of site emergency programs (e.g., facilitate site level drills)
  • Leading the development, review, and revision of safety and environmental training programs Prioritize major hazards and risks across the site, and ensure actions are taken to mitigate or eliminate risks.
  • Leading, coordinating, and participating in EHS performance improvement initiatives
  • Tracking, reporting, and analyzing EHS performance and implement corrective action as necessary
  • Managing site security programs and systems

 

WHAT DO I NEED TO DEMONSTRATE?

As well as a hunger to learn and succeed in Environmental Health & Safety, to be considered for this position you must be able to meet the following requirements: Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental or Occupational Health Sciences with  experience in the environmental, health, & safety field with a preference in food and beverage
  • Must be knowledgeable of safety and environmental regulations including but not limited to: air, wastewater, storm water, solid and hazardous waste regulations, PSM
  • Strong leadership, training, problem solving, and decision making skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated organizational, communication, research and analytical skills
  • Experience and/or familiarity with OHSAS 18001 & ISO 14001
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and plant specific software systems

Preferred:

  • Experience managing a Process Safety Management Program
  • Professional designation

Overview

Sentry Insurance is seeking an experienced self-motivated and results driven individual to fill an open position in our National Accounts Safety Services Division.  As a Safety Services Consultant II/Sr. you will work with Corporate Risk Management, Safety Management, and Plant/Facility Management contacts as well as brokerage firms in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio & Pennsylvania coordinating Safety and Industrial Hygiene Services for our causality line of business for our National Account customers (large deductible programs with insurance premium in excess of $500,000).

 What You’ll Do

 The following are some of the responsibilities of the National Account Safety Services Consultant II/Senior that would be located in Indianapolis, IN, Louisville, KY, or Cincinnati, OH with travel responsibilities in Southern IN, Kentucky, Southern OH and Pittsburgh, PA.

  • Design, develop and manage Service Plans for large, multi-location National Accounts and coordinate service activities (casualty services) with other National Account consultants/staff specialists.
  • Plan and deliver Safety/Risk Management services to our National Account customers to include Safety Program Assessments/Gap Analysis, Leadership Training, Program Development, Loss Analysis & Benchmarking and assistance in Safety Culture Development.
  • Develop, coordinate, and conduct safety training programs and seminars for insured and non-insured customers to educate management and elevate their understanding and awareness of safety, OSHA, loss potential and injury reduction techniques.
  • Maintain proficient knowledge in all aspects of Safety Management Practices and demonstrate technical expertise in specialty area(s) such as Ergonomics, Behavior Based Safety, Accident Investigation Principles & Root Cause Analysis, Safety Culture Development, Metric Development, OSHA Compliance, Fleet Safety, and Product Liability.
  • Provide supplemental Industrial Hygiene Services to include noise and air quality surveys (i.e. welding fumes, dust, organics, oil mist, IAQ, etc.) to support our Industrial Hygiene team and provide ongoing customer support on a National Account level.
  • The National Account Safety Services Consultant II/Sr. enhances the client’s technical knowledge and expertise through professional seminars and topic research as advances occur.

  What It Takes

 Four-year degree within Safety Sciences is required

  • A minimum of 3-8 plus years of advanced knowledge in safety/industrial hygiene with a National Property & Casualty Insurance Carrier preferred
  • Preferred experience in coordinating and servicing large or multi-location National Accounts
  • Knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, NFPA Standards
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or willingness to pursue is desired
  • An acceptable motor vehicle record and ability to perform extensive travel is required (50% – 75% travel)

The Health and Safety Sales Executive needs to be someone who can prospect aggressively, help clients and prospects identify safety needs and present value-added opportunities, and promote and sell solutions for complex safety needs.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

·        Sales presentations with business owners, safety personnel, and/or human resource team members.

·        Maintain positive client relationships.

·        Develop new referral channels and networking opportunities with trade organizations and special interest groups.
