SWOhio ASSP December 2025 Community Service Event – Taste of Hope Community Service event at The Ronald McDonald House.

Please note: our menu is planned based on the number of volunteers in your group. Please contact us prior to arrival if your number has changed.

The following information should be shared with all group members:

• All participants must be at least 16 years old.
• While you do not need ten people in your group, ten is the maximum. Extra helpers and younger children will not be permitted in the kitchen.
• Here is more information about the day-of experience and directions to our House.

Care Guidelines

Cincinnati’s Ronald McDonald House practices Trauma Informed Care to create a safe environment for our guest families and for your group. Here are a few House guidelines:

Please do not ask personal questions, share your personal stories, or ask to take photos or videos of or with them. If you find yourself in a conversation with a guest, we ask that you not:

• Add opinions such as, “It will all be ok.”
• Express religious blessings such as, “I’ll be praying for you” or “God has a plan.”
• Share sentiments wishing good health such as, “Get well soon.”

Please do smile at them and say hello. Even if they can’t smile back, they feel your support. If you find yourself in a conversation with a guest, we ask that you please:

• Listen to them, let them talk and lead.
• Let them know you will be thinking of them.
• Tell them it was an honor to meet them.

Thank you for understanding the vulnerable state of those living in our House and for being here to make a difference in their day.
